GR: Giant Robo

GR: Giant Robo takes place in the 20th century, where mysterious gigantic robots known as Giant Robos (GRs) suddenly appear worldwide, causing destruction and panic. Daisaku Kusama, a diver from a small shop, encounters a girl named V, who leads him to find and make a pact with the ancient Giant Robo 1 (GR1) on Minami Yonaguni Island, off the coast of Okinawa. Kusama later joins the United Nations' International Special Operations Military (UNISOM) and becomes commander of GR1, forming an alliance against GRO, a rival organization with its own Giant Robos.
