The Blue Wolves of Mibu are a group of ronin known as the Miburo, who would later become the Shinsengumi. In 1863, Japan is on the verge of significant change as the shogunate teeters on collapse. Young orphan Nio is drawn to this group, particularly its founding members Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Souji, who embody the ideals of justice and reform. Nio joins the Blue Wolves, inspired by their efforts to shape Japan's future, but he faces internal conflicts amidst the group's turbulent rise to power.
