Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor

The anime is based on Franz Kafka's short story. It revolves around a country doctor who receives a sudden nighttime call to treat a young patient. The doctor's journey to the patient's bedside becomes increasingly surreal as he's transported by "unearthly horses," but he fails to notice the patient's severe, life-threatening wound. This oversight leads to his public humiliation by the villagers, who have high expectations due to his role as a doctor, and ultimately sets him on a cycle of despair.
