Valvrave the Liberator

Valvrave the Liberator takes place in the 71st year of the True Era, a time when humanity has expanded into space and established independent colonies, including one in outer space. The world is divided between the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS) and the Dorssia Military Pact Federation (Dorssia), two superpowers that frequently clash in space and on Earth. The JIOR colony, where the story begins, is a peaceful and neutral region that includes Japan and the Oceanian Republic. When a Dorssian fleet attacks the colony, 17-year-old Haruto Tokishima discovers a hidden Valvrave, a powerful mecha, and enters into a contract to use its power, sacrificing his humanity in the process.
